We all enjoy the odd indulgent moment in life and our pets deserve too also. Optimised-Indulgence has been designed by experts to be easily added into the usual diet for all herbivores, expand dietary variety and to increase enrichment through the provision of natural scents, colours and textures.
Tortoises have a fantastic sense of smell and will naturally feed on grasses and thickets in the wild. They will also benefit greatly from pollen-rich flowers and petals in the wild in season, expanding their dietary profile as they do so. Flowers provide a welcome boost in practical nutrition and help to spread nutritional variety throughout the seasons. Plants change in nutritional value throughout the year from seed to seedling, to plant and then through flowering, and for some, even in decay. As keepers we can now easily provide wild-like nutrition by using EarthPro-Optimised52 and then further increase the nutritional profile by using products such as Optimised-Indulgence as a very welcome and rather opulent botanical boost.
Optimised-Indulgence has been crafted by hand to provide tortoises and other herbivores with an almost explosive array of colour, natural flower scents, textures and ‘flowering stage’ nutritional values. In this way we can further improve welfare directly with nutrition, but also through the practical enrichment of the senses. Optimised-Indulgence can also be used as an all-natural attractant to help reluctant feeders, diet switching and recovering animals through the provision of all-natural colours and scents.
Tortoises are explorers, highly inquisitive animals built to thrive, sometimes within quite barren environments, in order to achieve this their sense of smell in particular has evolved to allow them to find and consume foods when and where they become available. Colour also plays a large part in food finding and selection. We have noticed that yellows, pinks and blues appear more attractive to tortoises even when offered at distance in our extensive trials. As such, Optimised-Indulgence has been crafted to contain high levels of these attracting, scent heavy colours with the addition of 25% Rose flowers (as whole flowers with hip) and as loose petals. These roses are then complimented with whole blue cornflowers and other nutrient packed luxurious plants such as white clover, red clover, marigold and chamomile to create a truly opulent botanical mix.
Feeding Guidelines:
Optimised-Indulgence can be added into Optimised-52 or any other quality tortoise food at 10-15% of the total daily feed. This luxurious dietary addition will increase daily dietary variety, expand fibre profiles, expand mineral and vitamin profiles and enliven the senses.
Optimised-Indulgence can be easily fed as re-hydrated with Optimised-52, our Vet developed all-natural tortoise food, and can be mixed at will with EarthPro-FlowerBoost and/or DragonFuel if you wish to craft your own ideal botanical blend. Variety is the key to providing balanced nutrition and enrichment. The Arcadia Reptile EarthPro-Optimised range will allow you to provide well for your beloved pets easily and with style. Optimised-Indulgence can be fed as dry or as re-hydrated (we prefer to re-hydrate of course).
Optimised-Indulgence is an all-natural botanical blend designed to be help keepers to create fulfilling and nutritionally positive diets. It has not been designed to be a primary food. The nutritional values stated are averaged and alongside the tolerances known for naturally harvested plants. EarthPro products are ‘small batch’ made in Great Britain to the very highest standards.
