Lean Snakes, Surprising Growth

Over our test collection, we have seen anecdotal evidence that snakes being fed EvoRx® spontaneously grew in length. The snakes remained slim, healthy, vibrant in colouration and shedding with no apparent health issues. These were adult snakes all over 5 years old. They all started to increase in length visually and when measured this led to a voyage of discovery when we tried to see the difference between commercially available rodent meals and EvoRx®. After a long period of research, reading papers and consulting with vets, we can only conclude that the reason for this phenomenon is due to EvoRx®’s high protein levels, usable fats and an amino acid profile, which allows a balance of lipids and aminos that could cause growth rather than being stored as glucose/fats. We, therefore, sent samples for laboratory testing including commercially farmed rodents for amino acid testing alongside EvoRx®, below are the results with brief explanations:

Why EvoRx® May Promote Increased Length in Adult Snakes

Our research suggests several factors contribute to the observed growth:

Improved Collagen Matrix Formation

With high proline and glycine, EvoRx® likely supports better connective tissue formation. This is vital for elongating vertebrae and tendons, especially relevant in snake anatomy.

Lysine, by enhancing calcium absorption and collagen crosslinking, contributes to stronger, longer bones. Its increase over the mouse profile could be linked to skeletal extension in adult snakes.

The combination of arginine, methionine, and threonine supports cell repair, circulation, and gut health, improving the animal’s ability to regenerate and remodel tissue, even post-maturity.

Elevated BCAAs (Leucine, Iso-Leucine, Valine) fuel muscle maintenance and controlled lean growth.

Conclusion

The EvoRx® amino profile shows increases across nearly all growth-relevant amino acids compared to the medium mouse. These values support the hypothesis that the EvoRx® diet promotes tissue efficiency, skeletal lengthening, and improves nutrient utilisation, especially in snakes previously thought to be fully grown.

 

We feel that these anecdotal observations were due to the amino acid profile of EvoRx® which reveals higher levels of key growth-related amino acids, such as lysine, glycine, proline, leucine, and arginine when compared to the medium mouse. This likely explains the observed increases in snake length, even in adults. These amino acids support collagen synthesis, bone mineralisation, muscle repair, and connective tissue development. Combined with improved protein utilisation and nutrient delivery, EvoRx® appears to activate latent growth potential in snakes, promoting lean skeletal extension rather than weight gain.

It is widely accepted that reports of obesity and chronic obesity in captive snakes are high, with many vets warning about the dangers. In our extended period of product testing over multiple collections, we did not encounter any obesity. As already stated, we did, however, see growth in adult snakes when moved to EvoRx®. It is also clear that physical enrichment plays a huge role in weight management in captive snakes.

 

The previous method of wide weight tolerances in farmed rodents and historic methods of keeping, where some snakes had reduced space to move, are also likely causes of avoidable obesity/ improper fat retention.

We believe that with the better portion control that EvoRx® offers, the nutritional values of EvoRx®, an amino profile that appears geared towards growth rather than glucose/fat storage and that with proper feeding and physical enrichment EvoRx® can help keepers limit the chances of avoidable obesity.
